FINAL EXAM

You have two hours to read the second reading selection, plan your response, compose your essay, and revise your work.

On the top of your page, list your Gothic ID, professor’s name, and the date. Do not include your name anywhere on your paper.

Write a well-developed essay (which could range from 1.5 to 3 pages) that, drawing on the differing perspectives of the two readings, presents a response to the question below. Support your ideas with analysis of textual evidence, such as quotes or paraphrases.

What conditions are necessary for people to engage in high-risk social activism? Support your argument by explaining how Jerry Brewer’s comments about the Missouri football team’s recent stand against on-campus racism complicate or build upon the discussion of the nature of high-risk activism, as presented by Malcolm Gladwell in “Small Change: Why the Revolution will not be Tweeted.”
